A one-mile nature trail follows the lake shoreline, and links the lodge, marina and cottage areas. The Army Corps of Engineers maintain a self-guided interpretive trail on federal land adjacent to the park.

Rough River Lake is the perfect location for the water sports enthusiast. The marina offers 121 open slips, 29 open houseboat slips, 48 covered slips, a launching ramp, and rental fishing boats and pontoon boats. Open May to October. Call for fees (270-257-2311).
Lady Of the Lake Boat Tours: Up to 40 people capacity. Price on our daily tours is $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids. Available to rent by the hour for private business groups or families.
The avid angler will delight in the abundance of largemouth, white, and Kentucky bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish.
A pool is available for lodge and cottage guests at Rough River Dam Lodge. Or enjoy the gentle waves of Rough River Lake on the public beach, serviced with a bathhouse. Open seasonally.

At Rough River: The nine-hole, par-three course by the lake provides the golfer a challenging game as well as beautiful scenery. A driving range is available to practice the long drive. A fully equipped pro shop offers riding carts, pull carts, and rental clubs. Course open year-round, weather permitting.
The 9-hole "Rough River Dam" course at the Rough River Dam State Resort Park Golf Course facility in Falls of Rough, Kentucky features 1,389 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 27. Rough River Dam golf course opened in 1974.
This predominantly hilly course does have some flat fairways. The wide fairways are tree lined, and the large greens putt true. There are no sand bunkers or water hazards in play on the course. The signature hole is #4, a 158-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee that must carry a ditch before reaching the elevated green.
One of the finest par 3 courses in the Kentucky State Parks system, offering a golf shop, club rental, golf car rental, putting green, dining room, and lodging.
